As the end of 2024 quickly approaches, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on all that has happened over the course of this year. We continue to be in awe of the amazing work our clients and partners are doing in the healthcare space and are ever so appreciative of the opportunities to help enable a Better Healthcare Tomorrow™ . We also couldn’t be more grateful for the chances we’ve gotten over the last year to do work in our communities. While we don’t have the space to mention everything that has transpired over the year, we do think the following aptly reflects what 2024 had to offer.
In late spring we kicked off our fourth year of fundraising for the Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH). Our team not only raised funds for life saving research that is being done at BCH, but also got to participate remotely in the BCH Walk for Kids. Once again, we exceeded our target goal for the fundraising through support of clients, family, and friends. Thank you!
Founder and CEO, Khawar Khokhar, spent time this year being a judge for the innovation pitch contest at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where student entrepreneurs presented their business ideas for the chance at securing a grand prize of $10,000. Through his work as a judge he has also taken time over the year to help mentor and provide advice to the Pitch Contest winner as she evolves and commercializes her unique business idea.
In November the SAKS Health team was asked to be the moderator for the Factoring in Innovation Whilst Facing Budget Constraints panel discussion at Informa’s Copay, Reimbursement, and Access Congress. Leading a discussion with pharma and life science leaders on how to embrace the evolving health care landscape, they discussed the adjustments they’ve made in their efforts to bring new therapeutic options for patients and their care teams.
The second half of 2024 has been a key period for our growing organization with business opportunities from existing and new clients. We’ve added new clients in all of our practice areas and expanded relationships with existing clients into additional practice areas; organic growth continues to reinforce the awesome work our teams deliver for all of our client partners!
And this year's review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the Summer Internship program that SAKS Health continues to offer every year. Over the course of the summer, we were lucky to have two summer interns, Van Tran and Bode Lonergan. Our program was designed to give participating interns the opportunity to learn from 101 sessions with top leadership as well as providing real time experience through various projects within each department.
We look forward to what 2025 has in store and are eager to keep working towards a Better Healthcare Tomorrow™.
